Report: Josh McDaniels likely to take Colts head coaching job

Josh McDaniels is considered the favorite to become the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, and all signs continue to point to him taking the job.According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, McDaniels has informed potential assistant coaches of his plans to become a head coach after his season with the New England Patriots ends. The belief is that McDaniels will wind up in Indy. Barring a late change, the Patriots are going to lose both their offensive and defensive coordinators after their season ends. As ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday, Matt Patricia is expected to be named the next head coach of the Detroit Lions.McDaniels’ first stint as a head coach with the Denver Broncos in 2009 and 2010 was a failure, but Tim Tebow was his quarterback. He should have a lot more success coaching Andrew Luck, assuming the latest we have heard about Luck’s shoulder injury is true.
